MUMBAI:
Zee TV, India's largest media and entertainment company proudly
announces its growth curve despite the ongoing Indian Premier League's
cricket matches. The first 3 days of IPL has shown that Zee TV has
managed to not only hold firm, but also grow in terms of daily GRPs.
As per the data from aMap (HSM, C&S4+) the performance of Zee
TV on the first 3 days of IPL has been as follows:
1)
Friday, 18th of April: Zee TV's daily GRPs grew to 29.7 GRPs from
25.8 GRPs, same day last week
2) Saturday, 19th of April: Zee TV garnered 26.6 GRPs as compared
to 17.7 GRPs same day last week
3) Sunday, 20th of April: Zee TV achieved 35.5 GRPs, double than
the 17.6 that it achieved on the previous Sunday, across the full
day even though MAX got 84 GRPs on the same day.
Zee
has bucked the GEC trend of this first IPL weekend by growing on
all 3 days, as all other channels have fallen. All other GECs, including
Star Plus, have shown a decline in numbers in this first IPL weekend.
Speaking
on the heartening trend, Mr. Tarun Mehra, Business Head Zee TV said,
"Cricket is like a religion in India and hence we were closely
watching the trend of GEC once the matches started. I am very happy
to note that besides cricket, there is another habit that is hard
to break and that's daily soaps. Our growth is ample proof of the
same."
Star
Plus dropped from 32.7 GRP to 27.7 GRP on Friday, from 29 GRP to
24 on Saturday; and from 35.9 to 25.2 GRPs on Sunday.
