MUMBAI:
Emmy Award winner Tina Fey writes, executive-produces and stars
as Liz Lemon in "30 Rock," a Golden Globe Award-winning
American sitcom. 30 Rock is a workplace comedy where the workplace
exists behind-the-scenes of a live variety show. The show is told
through the comedic voice of Fey and features Alec Baldwin ("The
Aviator," "The Cooler"), Golden Globe and Screen
Actors Guild Awards for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television
Series as Jack Donaghy. Alec is the brash new network executive
who has turned the show upside down with his meddling ways. The
exciting new series, '30 Rock', on Thursday, 17 April at 9 pm only
on Star World.
Liz
Lemon is the head writer of a demanding, live sketch-comedy series
called "The Girlie Show". Although she's always up to
her ears with work, this single woman is happy with her life because
she's living the dream of every comedy writer in the Big Apple.
Network boss Jack Donaghy is cool, calm and egotistical. Despite
being a newcomer to showbiz, he believes that he is well qualified
to fix "The Girlie Show"
even though it's not broken.
With
the gang returning from their summer break, Liz (Tina Fey) is still
heartbroken over Floyd's departure. Meanwhile, when Jack (Alec Baldwin)
learns that his boss may be retiring, he positions himself to be
his successor. Elsewhere, Jenna (Jane Krakowski) struggles to shed
the weight she has gained over the summer and the show's loose-canon
star Tracy (Tracy Morgan) finds himself homeless.
"A
lot of what we'll be doing is to reset to where we were for viewers
who are coming to the show for the first time," says Fey. "That
way they can meet these characters for the first time and enjoy
them.."
A favourite
of the critics, the sitcom has picked up trophies at every major
awards show. At the Emmys, the show was named Most Outstanding Comedy
series. Earlier this year, Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin won Best Actor
statuettes at the Screen Actors Guild Awards and Fey was honored
with a Best Actress prize at the Golden Globes.
Season
two's star-studded list of guests include Jerry Seinfeld, Steve
Buscemi, Carrie Fisher, Al Gore, David Schwimmer and The Sopranos'
Edie Falco.
Don't
miss the madcap comedy of 30 Rock exclusively on STAR WORLD from
April 17 at 9pm.
