here come the powerhouses of tomorrow! Buzz18, country's leading

Cinemas announced the winners of 'Stir Up Your Dreams Contest' at
the scintillating evening hosted at Fun Cinemas, Andheri, Mumbai.
The event marked a grand success with a panel of esteem judges from
the film fraternity including renowned film maker, Tanuja Chandra,
popular actor Anupam Kher, dazzling Mahima Chaudhry and newcomer
Amit Sayal gracing the occasion and felicitating the winners with
grand prizes.
 The
evening on Friday night commenced with the performance of famous
singer 'Jasbir Jassi' and skit by 6 short-listed participants. This
was followed by the awards ceremony of the top 3 winners namely
Niharika Negi (Winner), Anmoal Sood (1st runner up), Asmit Kaushik
(2nd runner up). The first lucky winner got the lifetime opportunity
of getting a role in Tanuja Chandra's next film and a three-month
diploma-acting course, worth Rs 1.5 lakh absolutely free in Anupam
Kher's acting school, Actor Prepares, apart from handsome cash prizes.
In
order to make the initiative available to maximum number of people,
the entry process was kept as simple as possible. Interested candidates
were required to record a monologue of 2 minutes, on the theme of
'Hope' either in English or Hindi and upload it on the special window
created exclusively for the initiative namely – 'Stir up your
Dreams contest' on www.buzz18.com. Participants could even courier
the demo CD/DVD to Buzz 18's office or submit it to their nearest
Café Coffee Day outlets. The procedure of selecting the candidates
was reasonably tedious. Ten contestants were short listed from screenings
by the faculty of Anupam Kher's acting school, Actor Prepares, as
well as the editorial team of buzz 18.com. Out of these, three winners
were chosen by Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhry and Tanuja Chandra at
the gala event.
Applauding
the winners, renowned Director Tanuja Chandra said, "Judging
the entries was a colossal task but the winners came out in a shining
light. There is vast pool of talent in this country which is untouched
and unexplored. And Buzz18 has introduced a new platform to expose
this talent".
Speaking
on the initiative, Ms. Chandrima Pal, Editor, Buzz18.com said, "After
the overwhelming response to our maiden initiative, Shortcut, which
gave budding filmmakers a golden chance, we were keen to try out
something similar in the genre. Hope and A Little Sugar, the film,
which essentially is about being positive about life in the face
of challenges, was the perfect film to initiate a hunt for the actor,
who could be tomorrow's star, with just the right push. We are glad
that veteran actor like Anupam Kher, came forward to offer a complete
grooming course to the winner among other incentives."
Partnering
the event, Fun Cinemas played a perfect host. Expressing his views
about the talent hunt, Mr. Shirish Handa, Sr Vice President, Fun
Cinemas said, "We as multiplex players feel it's our responsibility
to promote more contemporary and relevant cinema to our patrons.
And taking this forward the positive theme of the film got as involved
to the whole project of stirring up ones dream".
