MUMBAI: On the occasion of 58th Republic Day, the President of
India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam has decided to choose a new medium to
reach out to his countrymen, Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM. Dr. Kalam, also
known as People's President, was in conversation with Radio Mirchi
RJ's Ananta and Saurabh for almost an hour, sharing his thoughts
and views on various aspects of his life, work and the country.
In his message, the President not only wishes India on the occasion
of the 58th Republic day, but also talks about how all of us together
can make India Khush (happy) - Mirchi Sunnewale Always Khush. In
his message to the youth, Dr. Kalam exhorts them to help build technologically
advanced India.
During the course of the interview, the President also shares details
related to the rebirth of India, stories related to this big day
- Republic Day, way back in 1950 and reminisces on the various stages
of our country, only on Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM. On the personal front,
he even shared his favourite songs and other personal details related
to food etc. with the radio station.
Sharing his happiness on receiving the interview Radio Mirchi station
director Kanwarbir Singh said, "We are thankful to Dr. Kalam
for being so approachable and sparing the time for the interview.
Radio Mirchi will continue to spread joy through its radio stations
across the country and live up to the president's belief that the
job of a radio station is to spread happiness amongst its listeners."
For the very first time, the President's message is being broadcast
on a private channel. So far these messages have only been aired
on the government owned channels, Doordarshan and All India Radio.

Friday January 26, 2007 at 8:00 am. The broadcast is across all
Radio Mirchi radio stations in the country only.
