NEW DELHI: NDTV, among the most important Indian news channel,
has announced a series of special programmes to help the viewers
understand the impact of this year's Union Budget on the economy
and people's personal finances, a press statement from the channel
said today.
These programmes will be aired on NDTV Profit, NDTV 24X7 and NDTV
India respectively.
The programming on these channels is crafted at two levels - those
on the budget run-up and those on the budget day.
NDTV Profit will continue with its reporting of business news and
trends. In the run-up to the budget, the channel will present a
series of special analytical shows titled, 'If I were the FM', 'Budget
Insights', 'Taxing Times', 'We the SMEs' and 'The Lobby'.
NDTV 24X7 also brings a set of special programmes for the Budget
day. Starting with Dr Prannoy Roy's 'Budget Battleground' and Vikram
Chandra's 'Tax Guru', to a host of other programmes like 'The Spend
Factor' and 'Budget 2007 Hopes and Fears', 'Politics of Budget',
"The Budget and You", 'Budget Battleground- The Good,
the Bad and the Ugly'.
Added to this is a special show 'Budget 2007' to be anchored by
Dr Prannoy Roy, with guests Ruchir Sharma, MD, Morgan Stanley, TN
Ninan, Editor and Publisher, Business Standard and students from
the Indian Institute of Management.
The line-up of programmes on NDTV India will focus on making the
Budget relevant to the people.
These programmes will simplify the Budget and discuss its impact
on personal savings and taxation and benefits for the common man,
along with special reports and live discussions.
Interactive audience-based programmes will draw direct feedback
from the public on the Budget and the economic scenario.
