Hungarian Grand Prix – Live on ESPN Star Sports Will Ferrari dent McLaren's lead

NEW DELHI: ESPN Star Sports, Asia's leading sports broadcaster, will bring Live all the excitement of F1 racing this weekend with the Hungarian Grand Prix. The channel will telecast Live and Exclusive the Grand Prix from Hungaroring with its signature show Race Day (pre race) and Chequered Flag (post race) as part of its comprehensive F1 programming for Indian viewers.

After the wet and wild European Grand Prix, this weekend's Hungarian event is set to be a scorcher. The bruising Nurburgring weekend ended Lewis Hamilton's unprecedented run of podium finishes and saw his championship lead reduced from12 points to just two. His team mate, Fernando Alonso, the last ditch winner at Nurburgring is hoping for better luck in this year's Hungarian Grand Prix after a difficult weekend in 2006 which saw the Spanish driver retire after having started from the back of the grid.

Ferrari were left to blame themselves after Felipe Massa gave away the lead to Alonso with just four laps remaining in a wheel clashing contest at the European Grand Prix. An engine failure for Kimi Raikkonen meant that the Scarlet team could not take advantage of a potential 1-2 podium finish. The Italian team, lagging by 27 points, (McLaren at 138 and Ferrari at 111) will be looking to upset McLaren's consolidation at the top at the Hungarian Grand Prix to keep its title hopes alive.

The circuit held its first Grand Prix in 1986 and has been present ever-since on the Formula One calendar. The Hungaroring is yet another of those circuits with little room for overtaking, making pit strategies extremely important during the all-important Sunday. While Fernando Alonso made history at the Hungaroring by becoming the youngest ever GP winner in 2003, it was Button who registered his maiden victory on the track last season.
