Ten Sports will combine with Zee Sports to offer a unique view
of the Uefa Cup this week. The channels will simulcast coverage
of the biggest games, with Ten Sports showing the fierce rivalry
between the top Spanish side Espanol and the top Portuguese side
Benfica
The tie will begin at 1 am IST on Friday morning, with the game
being shown again in the evening. The UEFA Cup features some of
the biggest names in European football including sides eliminated
in the first stages of this years Champions League as well as sides
that have performed well in their domestic leagues.
Benfica are currently 2nd in the Portuguese league, fighting a
battle with close rivals Porto for the title. Benfica will be looking
to add to a famous European tradition with further success in the
UEFA Cup and will be determined to bring back a good result from
the short journey to Spain.
Espanol are in the top half of Spain’s championship, trying
to close down city rivals Barcelona in the table. They have a good
history in European competition, including a place in the UEFA Cup
in 1988, and are sure to provide a test to the Portuguese hopefuls.
Ten Sports also shows exclusive coverage of the UEFA Champions
League and top football from around the world including the upcoming
Copa America.
