who have entertained us and made us laugh over the years with their
films… and now they are all set to have join Star Gold in its
unique endeavor – Star Gold Comedy Honors, that honors outstanding
talent in the field of comic excellence in the Indian Film Industry!
Star Gold takes great pride in announcing the special advisory panel,
comprising of the following legends who have made critically acclaimed
films and won several prestigious awards and accolades:
 Kundan
Shah - The master of comedy with a message. . He has directed some
of the greatest comedy films on Indian screen like Jaane Bhi Do
Yaaron and Kabhi Haa Kabhi Naa, which have been outright hilarious
and remarkably fresh. He has not only written, directed some of
the greatest comic hits but also acted and crafted screenplays for
a few award winning movies!
Vashu Bhagnani - The producer of what is undoubtedly the most successful
comedic franchise in Hindi cinema Vashu started his production company,
Puja Films in 1996 with Coolie No.1. The film was a major success
and was followed by more successes like hero No.1, Pyar kiya To
Darna Kya, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Biwi No.1, Mujhe Kucch Kehna
Hai and others.

Kukunoor – Revitalizing parallel cinema movement with his classic
Hyderabad Blues, the chemical engineer from India, who went on work
as an environmental consultant in the U.S. never thought he would
give up a lucrative career and actually pursue a dream of making

Star Gold the panelists will shortlist some of the outstanding talent
in the field of comic excellence, who will be honored in a glittering
ceremony that will be held in Mumbai at the end of April.
 As
a part of Comedy Honors, the STAR Network will also be conducting
a mega poll of the All Time Greatest Comedy Film. The advisory panel
will select the shortlist of ten movies and millions of viewers
from around the world will get a chance to vote for their favourite
movie with a comic theme and the most voted movie would enter the
permanent STAR Gold Comedy Hall Of Fame. The scale of voting will
be immense as each week, STAR Gold reaches out to more than 40 million
viewers in India alone.
