New Delhi, September 01, 2006: According to the latest TAM viewership
data, Discovery Travel & Living's first Indian commission The
Great Indian Wedding recorded the highest viewership among all English
entertainment channels, including Star Movies, HBO, Zee Studio,
PIX, AXN, Star World and Zee Café, in its premier episode
on Sunday, 20th August. The Great Indian Wedding recorded 39 per
cent channel share amongst these channels. (Source TAM: CS15+ AB,
6 Metros, 20:00 - 20:59, Sunday).
The CHANNEL SHARE was 45 per cent higher than Star Movies, 77 per
cent higher than HBO and 38 times that of Star World.

and luxury to discerning viewers who want to experience the best

The Great Indian Wedding captures the inimitable celebrations and
the high-profile theme parties that herald lifestyle weddings, bringing
to viewers an up-close and personal account of the behind-the-scenes
revelry and preparations that precede these extravagant weddings.
Beginning with an episode on the much talked-about wedding of hotelier
Vikram Chatwal and the gorgeous model Priya Sachdev, the programme
aired on Sunday, 20th August at 8 pm.
Discovery Travel & Living had exclusive access to present this
extravagant wedding. The wedding was attended by world leaders like
former American President Bill Clinton, The Prince of Greece His
Excellency Nikolaos, Bollywood stars like Jaya Bachchan and Arjun
