Sports coverage of the UEFA Champions League continues this Tuesday with action
from the top games taking place on match day four. And they do not
get much bigger than the opening game where Barcelona will be looking to extract
swift revenge against Chelsea who triumphed when the two teams met two weeks ago.
On that occasion a Didier Drogba strike was enough to secure the London outfit
a 1-0 victory but things could well be different in the hostile Neu Camp Stadium.
With Chelsea sitting five points clear at the top of their group and Barcelona
only level on points with Werder Bremen the Catalan side know that a victory is
vital and a loss could well be disastrous. Victory for Chelsea would secure them
a place in the second round. The delayed game on Tuesday sees Bordeaux
and Liverpool match up again. The French team know anything other than a victory
at Anfield would mean almost certain elimination from this years tournament.
Liverpool meanwhile will be desperate to put their poor domestic form behind
them and get the three points up for grabs which could - depending on the result
of the PSV, Galatasaray match - be enough to put them through to the second round.
Wednesday kicks off with Arsenal hosting CSKA Moscow in a top of the table
clash. The Russians ran out worthy winners two weeks ago with a 1-0 victory
and if they can repeat that performance at the Emirates Stadium they would put
a serious dent in Arsenals aspirations of reaching a second consecutive
final. The delayed game on Wednesday sees Manchester United travel
to Copenhagen, hoping to preserve their 100% record in the qualifying stages this
season. Copenhagen is another side who know that only a victory will keep their
slim hopes alive of reaching the second round. As well as the live
and recorded matches Ten Sports will be providing coverage of all the goals from
all the matches on both Tuesday and Wednesday. 01/11/06
