MUMBAI: Volvo Masters, the final event of the European golf calendar,
gets underway Thursday 26 October and viewers can watch all the
action live and exclusive on Ten Sports.
The end-of-season showpiece is only open to the top 60 players
on the European tour. The golfers would be playing all four rounds
and its the ultimate test of golf against a jury of their peers
on continental Europe's most demanding golf course, Valderrama.
It will also be the first time that all 12 of Europe's successful
Ryder Cup Team will been seen on a golf course together since their
memorable victory.
There will be an added interest as the honour of topping the European
order of merit is still up for grabs and with the Volvo Masters
being the last event on the calendar the winner will be decided
this weekend.
The tournament is also one of the most valuable for prize money
on the tour with last year's winner picking up 666,660 Euros and
the average prize per player of 66,666 Euros.
And, because of the valuable prize fund and the blue-chip quality
of the field, the Volvo Masters offers amongst the highest level
of Official World Golf Ranking Points, by which professionals all
over the world are ultimately judged.
The action gets under way on Thursday at 19:00 pm, said an official
release.
