: On the occasion of Onam festival in September ,Amrita TV's bouquet of unique
programmes was among the most watched and appreciated offerings among Malayalis
across the world--with its programmes being featured in the Top 3 ratings.The
Onam programmes included, superhit feature films, programmes for all viewer segments
in all genres,innovative graphics and more importantly three tele-films exclusively
produced by Amrita TV for festival telecast
3. New Programmes : Three
programmes in different genres were launched:
# "Ammayadoppam "
is a snapshot of the pan-Indian tour of Amma covering the experiences of people,admirers,celebrities
across different States (Sunday 1030 hrs IST)
# "Taste of Kerala"
showcases the novel delicacies and cuisines from remote parts of Kerala in a travelogue
format (Sunday 1200 hrs IST).
# "Parasparam" is an interactive viewer
feedback program with a combination of phone-ins,e-mails and letters in a visually-appealing
format(Sunday 1330 hrs IST).
Besides, to cater to the interests of Malayalis
across the globe and to showcase the water sports/festivities of Kerala,Amrita

News Impact Stories : Based on an investigative news story,exposing the dubious
nature of excise raids on illicit liquor business,the Kerala Assembly initiated
new guidelines for involving public on tip-offs. In another story tracking the
whereabouts of a person, who had abandoned his home two years ago,police were
able to track the missing person and get him reunited with his parents

Amrita TV Programme for Limca Book of Records :On Sept 5, Amrita TV telecast a
unique episode of “Udayamritam”which was the Longest Single-shot 55-minute
sequence using a hand-held camera with live sound, which has been accepted by
the Limca Book of Records .For the record breaking episode, filming was done at
the sacred grove of traditional art forms in Arangottukara village in Thrissur
district. Around 50 traditional artists and 25 crew members worked in unison without
any takes;with Mr.Reji Syne as Producer and Ms.Mochita as anchor. “Udayamritam”
is a one-hour morning programme which has completed 500 episodes on Amrita TV(Daily
0630 hrs IST)
6. Over I Million Hits -- "Super Star Forum":
The huge wave of viewer response for Amrita TV's mega reality music show "Super
Star", has resulted in 1.1 million hits being registered at www.amritatv.com
with boundless blogging from across the world, in terms of formation of fan clubs
for the Super Star Contestants,Judges,Anchor and predictions by viewers on the

7. Demo Stalls--Tata Sky and Dish TV : On the occasion of birthday of Amma,
tens of thousands of devotees,visitors from India and abroad who had converged
at Amritapuri, were witness to exclusive demo stalls of Tata Sky and Dish TV offering
special DTH packages.Amrita TV is now available nationally through Tata Sky and
Dish TV and prominent cable networks. |
