of it kind website dedicated to Marathi Cinema was launched on 12th Oct at MIG
club Bandra, Mumbai. This website is a one-stop point for authentic information
pertaining to Marathi Cinema. The website which implies stars in Marathi industry
is a brainchild of veteran director and producer Mahesh Tilekar. It is encyclopedia
about actresses from Marathi films since 1913. Here, authentic textual information
is accompanied by some rare exclusive photographs of the actresses. This is first
of its kind website in the history of Marathi film industry. The site was
launched at a gala event by the Icon of the Marathi film industry Nilu Phule &
Ace photographer Gautam Rajadhyakshya along with Hon. Minister for Co-operation,
Relief, Rehabilitation of State Shri. Patangrao Kadam. The event was graced by
Bollywood actresses Amrita Rao. This grand event saw the presence of eminent actresses
from Marathi Film Industry like Jayashree Gadkar, Asha Kale, Alka Kubal, Priya
Berde, Varsha Usgoankar, Madhura Velankar , Sushma Shiromani, Sumati Gupte, Uma
Bende, Rekha Kamat, Chitra, Jeevankala, Kanan Kaushal, Faiyaz, Shalaka, Kishori
Shahane, Shubha Khote, Vrinda Bhagat, Sarla Yevlekar, Aishwarya Narkar, Pratiksha
Lonkar, Meena T, Resham Tipnis, Anjana Mumtaz and several more known artistes. Commenting
about this venture, Actor Shri. Nilu Phule said, "Such love, unity &
affection can be seen and felt only in Marathi Film Industry". He further
patted Mahesh Tilekar for his thankful initiative. The journey through the site
begins with "Kamala Gokhale" (Known actor Vikaram Gokhale's grandmother)
who was the first star in the industry and continues with other eminent actresses
like Durga Khote, Shobhana samarth, Lalita Pawar, Shanta Apte, Lila Chitnis, Hansa
Wadkar, Sulochan, Jayashree Gadkar, Seema, Asha Kale, Alka Kubal, Varsha Usgoankar,
Madhura velankar, Deepa Parab, Sarika Nilatkar and so on. Thus this resourceful
site will give you immense information about 97 such stars. On this occasion
Producer, Director Mahesh Tilekar said "This project is made by me only because
of the sense of a responsibility towards Marathi Cinema. This which has given
