Mumbai, March 13, 2006: Awaaz, India's first dedicated consumer
channel, has created a unique post budget program in collaboration
with Star TV. This program will attempt to cover the impact of the
budget on the Indian household by featuring members of a family
from Star Plus serials.
Characters from households of popular Star Plus serials, representatives
of the model Indian family, will now try and understand the implication
of the budget on their personal and professional lives in an innovative
post budget television show on Awaaz called 'Star Parivaar ka Budget'.
Envisaged as a dialogue between the various members of the families
from popular teleserials like Baa Bahu aur Baby, the architects
of budgets and people who shape economic policy, the show will portray
the budget as an economic event of great interest not just for corporate
India, but also for households across the country. Various members
of the Star Parivaar- from the youth in the family to the housewife
to the bread earner - will feature in the show.
Praful Patel, Civil Aviation Minister, Ashok Lahiri, Economic Advisor
to the Finance Minister, Shikha Sharma, MD & CEO of ICICI Prudential
Life Insurance and characters like Baa, Arshad, Arvind from popular
Star Plus soaps will be in an engaging conversation in a unique
setting, about how the Union Budget 2006 and economic policies of
the government will affect their lives. The show is anchored by
Awaaz's Editor in chief Sanjay Pugalia and will also feature consumer
affairs editor Vivek Law.

'Star Parivaar ka Budget ' will be broadcast on Awaaz and also
promoted on the TV18 network (CNBC TV18 and CNN-IBN). Star TV will
also promote the show on its network.
The show will be aired as a half hour special on Awaaz on the March
15, 2006 at 8.30 pm with a weekend repeat .
