| Mumbai, February 17, 2005: Zee Marathi's Gaurav Awards
2006 has resulted in Zee Marathi's, ruling the ratings chart during
the telecast. The event telecast on Saturday, 11th February between
7.30 pm and 11 pm has clocked a TVR of 7.8 in CS4+ in Maharashtra.
Zee Marathi had the highest channel share of 33.6% during the telecast
of the award ceremony in the aforesaid period. Overtaking general
entertainment channels such as Star and Sony who had a channel share
of only 7.2% and 6.7% respectively in CS 4+ in Maharashtra.
According to the latest TAM data Zee Gaurav scored 9.2 TVRs in
CS 4+ homes, in Mumbai whereas in CS Females 15+ ABC it reached
a high of 12.2 TVRs. This property has also contributed to the overall
increased performance of the channel and has brought the channel
to 212 GPRs against ETV's 167 GRPs in CS4+ and 297 GRPs against
ETV's 188 GRPs in CS 15+ ABC Females.
Commenting on the ratings, Mr.Nitin Vaidya, Business Head Zee Marathi
said, "The Gaurav awards are in their 7th year and we are overwhelmed
at the stupendous response from the industry. This year's impressive
ratings are clear indicators of the support we have from our viewers.
We are delighted with the performance of the channel and look forward

The awards ceremony had traditional Marathi folk songs & dances
performed by Adesh Bandekar & Aishwarya Narkar. Their gripping
performances left the viewers completely mesmerized. A standup comedy
act by Naveen Prabhakar who tickled the audiences' funny bone with
a variety of subjects ranging from current affairs to Marathi films
to celebrities and social & cultural behavior of a common man
in Maharashtra. A scintillating performance by Urmila Matondkar,
who paid a tribute to Marathi actors of yester years in Hindi films,
like Nutan, Tanuja, Smita Patil, Madhuri Dixit. Aditi Gowitrikar
also performed on a popular Marathi composition. The show was hosted
by "Iqbal" - Shreyas Talpade accompanied by Bharat Jadhav
the most popular Marathi film star. Apart from these, there were
comedy skits performed by popular Marathi artists.
