MUMBAI: Ernie Els will seek to join an elite group of golfers this
weekend when he defends his Alfred Dunhill Championship title at
Mpumalanga in South Africa. If he does so he will become one of
only a handful of players who have won a single European Tour Title
on four separate occasions, the others being Bernhard Langer, Nick
Faldo and Seve Ballesteros.
Ten Sports will be covering days two, three and four of the tournament
in which the South African will pit his skills against some of the
top players on the European Tour. These will include Lee Westwood,
Scott Drummond, Charl Schwartzel and Andrew Coltart.
Another name that many will be looking out for is 18 year-old Oliver
Fisher who recently became the third youngest player to make it
through the European Tour qualifying school. The protégé
of Nick Faldo will make his Tour debut at the Leopard Creek Golf
Course looking to make a solid start to what is expected to be a
long and successful career.
The Alfred Dunhill Championship is the first of back to back tournaments
played in South Africa, the second being the South African Airways
Open which will also be covered live on Ten Sports.
Ten Sports coverage gets underway on Friday at 17-00 IST, Saturday
at 16-00IST and with delayed coverage on Sunday at 23-30IST.
