Soccer weekends on ESPN Star Sports

Mumbai, September 16, 2005: ESPN STAR Sports, Asia's leading sports broadcaster, brings the English Premier League, live & exclusive, this weekend with two of the biggest clubs in the history of the Premiership go face to face in what can be assured quality football.

UEFA Champions Liverpool, face their toughest challenge since winning the Champions league, as they get ready to take on the most successful club in English football, Manchester United. Rafael Benitez will be hoping his new signing, Peter Crouch, puts up the same awe-inspiring performance he exhibited in the champions' league encounter against Real Betis with both goals being his assist. Manchester United on the other hand will try and forget their lacklustre performance and focus on task in hand.

In other matches, defending champions Chelsea take on Charlton Athletic and bearing a miracle the London side will score full three points. Another good battle will be between Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur with many believing the Spurs to be the dark horses this season in the league. Though, they have yet to perform to potential, there is no denying in the talent the side possesses. Michael Owen will look to open his EPL account this season with Newcastle United making a trip to Blackburn Rovers. The Magpies are yet to register a victory and none will be sweeter with Michael finding the net.

More EPL action will be live with Wigan Athletic hosting Middlesbrough and Bolton Wanderers playing away against Manchester City. In the Spanish league, two heavyweights of the La Liga, Valencia and Deportivo clash for an early confidence booster in the league.
