Soccer Weekends on ESPN STAR Sports

New Delhi, December 2, 2005: ESPN STAR Sports, Asia's leading sports broadcaster, will bring home live action from the English Premier League with all top clubs looking for wins in one of most closely

fought season in the last few years. The broadcast continues to treat soccer fanatics with top quality action from the best of the best talents in the league.

Liverpool, the Champions League winners, will look to continue their climb up the league table as they host Wigan at Anfield. Wigan Athletic after a superb start to their debut season in EPL has slipped from second place to fifth, at par with Liverpool at 25 points, will look for a win to maximise chances of a Champions League birth next season.

Chelsea will host Middlesbrough at home with the return of the Argentine striker Hernan Crespo. The league leaders still enjoy a lead of 10 pits over the rest of the pack looking in ominous form, but

Middlesbrough, tipped as a big match team, can surprise the defending champions. Third placed Arsenal make a trip to Bolton, a match again

promising top quality action like the previous two on Premiership Saturday. With the young talent shaping extremely well and star striker Thierry Henry showing real class, Arsene Wenger is on a roll and the match could well go the Gunners way.

Manchester United, another top club looking to hold on to its second place will be facing Portsmouth at home. The Red Devils have fought their way up to second place after a dismal start to the season. With

the camaraderie in place, the world's richest club may just walk easy on the night. On Sunday, Charlton Athletic play against Manchester City with a win guaranteeing them a place back in to the first half of the table

In the Spanish league, Real Madrid go head to head with confident Getafe at the Bernabeu Stadium on Saturday. Only one point separates the two clubs and this could well be a testing contest for the Galacticos.
