Champions Trophy hockey live on Ten Sports

MUMBAI, December 8: World class hockey action returns live on Ten Sports, the world’s number one sports channel for south Asians, when Champions Trophy, the premier annual tournament of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), starts in Chennai’s Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium from Saturday, December 10.

The tournament features the top six hockey nations of the world, including hosts India. The other teams in the fray are Olympic champions Australia, defending champions Spain, World champions Germany, Olympic runners-up the Netherlands and Pakistan, who recently won the prestigious Rabo Trophy in Amsterdam.

Ten Sports will telecast live all the matches. The three round robin matches each day for the first five days will be played at 4:30 pm, 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm (all times IST). The final is scheduled for Sunday, December 18, at 8:00 pm (IST).

Legendary Australian player Rick Charlesworth and renowned hockey expert David Christison will provide insightful commentary during the matches.

Ten Sports will also telecast a half-hour special preview show on the opening day of the tournament, which starts at 7:30 pm (IST).

The preview show encapsulates the chances of the various teams with a special focus on India as well as takes a look at the stars expected to shine at the event. There is also a review of the Rabo Trophy and the European Nations Cup - the last two big events leading up to the Champions Trophy. There is a special feature called Laptop Logic on how India has fallen behind the times in preparation and use of technology to improve its performance.
