Liverpool takes on CSKA Moscow in UEFA Super Cup on ESS

Mumbai, August 25, 2005: English Premier League enters week 3 with a very impressive line up of matches this weekend, live & exclusive on Asia's leading sports network ESPN STAR Sports. The broadcaster will also air the UEFA Super Cup, Champions League winners Liverpool taking on Cup winners CSKA Moscow, live at Midnight on Saturday.

Last year's surprise UEFA Champions Liverpool will be out to prove their supremacy in Europe when they face the resurgent and resilient Russian team CSKA Moscow. The two teams go head on for the UEFA Super Cup, an annual match between the UEFA Champions league winners and the UEFA Cup winners.

In the Premiership battle, Chelsea will be put to test against the in form Tottenham Hotspur in Premiership Saturday. With Jeraime Defoe proving his skills and credentials as English Football's new hero, Chelsea faces an uphill task when they take on the Spurs at White Hart Lane. Jose Mourinho, who has been in news for all wrong reasons for the alleged snub with Chelsea players, will be gunning to set the record straight. The astute coach will want his team to let their performance speak with an impressive line up guaranteed in the Chelsea start up.

On Super Sunday, old foes Newcastle United and Manchester United re-ignite their rivalry at St. James' Park. Though both teams now have new and rising stars in their teams, presence of experienced hands like Alan Shearer, Roy Keane, Gary Neville, Shay Given will inspire a competitive match. Manchester United with a couple of power packed performance will be testing known territory with the Red Devils enjoying a streak of wins over the Magpies. But as unpredictable as the premiership can get, Graeme Souness' men may sprung out a surprise win.
