MUMBAI: Man’s quest for unraveling the mysteries of the universe was showcased in the culmination “Earth and Beyond” presented by children of Grade II, Billabong High International School, Bhopal.
The infinite capacity of children to grasp facts and figures, their innate curiosity which prompts them to question “Why” or “Why not” and the discussion of possibilities which forms an integral part of the unit, was highlighted through poems, dances, role plays etc.
One felt as though one was in a capsule on an odyssey in space. “Universal Court” reminded the audience of the legacy, the pioneers of space travel have left behind while “Happy Birthday Sedna” applauded the triumph of the human spirit.
Sujata Lakhani, Principal, Billabong High International School, said, “The depiction of the space through poems, dances, role plays etc. enlightened all of us on the various & interesting aspects of the world beyond the earth. The students have played their part in a fabulous manner.”
The audience of proud parents returned home enriched and enlightened -- with some food for thought: When a child asks questions, choose to respond accurately remember that child may just be Neil Armstrong or Kalpana Chawla in the making!
