Delhi: The IBN Network, in partnership with IRB Infrastructure Developers
Ltd, announced the winners of the third edition of Young Indian
Leaders Awards recognizing the achievements of nine inspirational
young Indians. In a star-studded awards ceremony held in New Delhi,
Chief Guest Sachin Pilot, Minister of State for Communications &
IT, felicitated the winners. The event opened with a power-packed
performance by popular music band Euphoria.
Young
Indian Leaders Awards in its 3rd Edition applauds the youth
of our nation for their accomplishments, commitment to society and
their zeal to contribute in shaping the future of India. This path-breaking
initiative is meant to honour and showcase young achievers from
various fields of expertise, who symbolize optimism and can be a
source of inspiration to the nation's youth. The award adheres to
a process of selection which has the IBN Network Editorial Board
at its core.
The
premier trophy given to all award recipients represents the patriotic
zest of todays youth. Embellished with the colours; of saffron,
white and green crystals, illuminate the impressive Y
shaped trophy.
Shooter
Vijay Kumar was felicitated with the Special Achievement Award for
his outstanding performance at the London Olympics where he won
the silver medal in the individual 25 metre rapid fire pistol event.
He was acknowledged for his consistence performance at various sporting
events including Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games where he
won several medals that included 5 Gold medals and a Silver medal.

nine Young Indian Leaders that were honoured at the award ceremony

Rikin B Gandhi, New Delhi (30 years)
Vinayak Lohani, Kolkata (34 years)
Kamal Medhi, Meghalaya (31 years)
L Athira Krishna, Chennai (24 years)
Arjun Vajpai, New Delhi (19 years)
Sandeep Bachhe, Mumbai (34 years)
Vetrimaaran, Chennai, (36 years)
Special Achievement Award: Vijay Kumar, Himachal Pradesh (27 years)
The
Grand Finale of the awards ceremony will be telecast on CNN-IBN,
IBN7 and IBN-Lokmat on September 8, 2012 at 6:00 pm, 8:00 pm and
6:00 pm respectively.
Speaking
about the awards, Rajdeep Sardesai, Editor-in-Chief, CNN-IBN, IBN7
