| MUMBAI:
The Ryan International Group of Institutions organised for the second year in
a row the Iceplex Ad Film Awards (IAFA) 09. The grand finale, the award distribution
ceremony took place in Mumbai on the 31 January 2010. Iceplex
is the media initiative launched by Ryan in an effort to bring out the hidden
talents of the students in creative writing and conceptualisation put together
this ad film making contest. “It
is difficult to make an ad, as complete information needs to be given in the shortest
possible time. This contest does not focus on the technical expertise of the ad
film maker but on the capability to ideate,” says Ryan Global MD madam Grace
Pinto. “And IAFA gives the students the platform to showcase their talents.”
Jury
members like, Justice BH Marlapalle, Manmohan Shetty, Bhimsain, Ila Arun, Bhawana
Somaaya and Anil Sharma along with the IAFA brand ambassador Johny Lever, lent
their expertise and support to IAFA 09. Other
guests present at the event were MP Sanjay Nirupam and Poonam Sinha (wife of Shatrughan
Sinha), Amin Sayani, Films Division chief producer Kuldeep Sinha, Spacetoon South
Asia MD and CEO Rajeev Sangari, singer Neeraj Shreedhar, theatre artist Om Katare,
and Bollywood actors Raza Murad and Nikhil Dwivedi. The
event saw performances of music, song and dance which organised by the Johny Lever
Ryan Film Academy. The anchors of the evening were Ali Asgar and Swapnil Joshi.
