| MUMBAI:
In its second year of the Greenathon campaign, NDTV and Toyota has launched an
animated music video of the Green Anthem- Hawaaein, Patte, Paani- across the NDTV
network on 17th Feb 2010. The music video features campaign ambassador Priyanka
Chopra in a mix of animation and real life sequences. A song for a cleaner, greener
and better tomorrow, the Green Anthem carries the message to save the environment.
The music for the anthem has been composed by well known musical trio Shankar,
Ehsaan and Loy and penned by veteran lyricist Gulzar. In
the video, produced by Red Dot Productions, Priyanka Chopra portrays a polluted,
dry, barren landscape looking for a solution. And she finds it - a green sapling
sprouting out of the cracked earth. She hands the sapling to a little girl, an
angel who runs into the real world and gives the sapling to ordinary, carefree
young people. These youngsters inspired by the little girl hand out saplings to
people and urge them to think of the impact of their everyday actions on our planet.
As these people take small steps in the right direction, Priyanka's world begins
to change for the better. The
video inspires people to take small yet impactful actions such as- saving water
and electricity, planting trees and reducing pollution.
Commenting
on the music video launch, Dr. Prannoy Roy, Chairman, NDTV Ltd. said, The
NDTV-Toyota Greenathon campaign is simply to bring the country together for a
single cause- save the environment for our future generation. The ability to make
a difference rests with the youth and the song endeavours to nurture a love for
the earth in these young minds. The Green Anthem is a lively and fun song but
with a very serious message. About
the video, actor Priyanka Chopra added, We were very sure about the fact
that it had to appeal and connect with audience and not be boring and preachy.
The animation has made it visually appealing and interesting. Also, the video
shows us how we can make small and easy changes in our lives that will make a
big difference in the long run. It was the first time I shot for an animated video
and I had to imagine everything as I was standing against a chroma screen. The
storyboard created by the NDTV team was fabulous and really helped me visualize
what I had to do.
