MIB grants approval to National Geographic Tamil and National Geographic Telugu

NGC Network channels are part of the Star India bouquet

MUMBAI: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has approved NGC Network India’s two name change applications.

NGC Network got the MIB nod to rename its licences NAT GEO MUSIC HD and NAT GEO PEOPLE HD to National Geographic Tamil and National Geographic Telugu.

NGC Network, which is part of the Star India bouquet of channels, has seven other channels under its umbrella – BABY TV HD, FOX LIFE, FOX LIFE HD, NAT GEO WILD, NAT GEO WILD HD, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC, and NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC HD.

In March, MIB had given the green signal to Star India to rename its licences Star Movies Kids and Star Movies Kids HD to Star Sports 1 Bangla and Star Sports 1 Marathi. 

Veecon Media’s Harvest TV too was formally allowed to rename its license to HTN News by the ministry.
