All participants in Qalam 2001 are being given an assignment on which
they will be tested. This test, along with how they fare during the
workshop and seminar, will be judged by the Qalam 2001 panel consisting
of Joyce Thierry, Rekha Nigam, Sandhya Divecha, Vinta Nanda and the
Indian Television Dot Com team (Anil Wanvari, Anoop Wanvari, Anand Gurnani,
Harish Patil, Tuhin Amar, and Vishal Gurnani).
10
participants will be shortlisted and presented to industry on 21 December
as individuals who have the potential to develop into good scriptwriters.
The
assignment basically involves developing a one-page scene which can
function as an opening to a TV series (you can decide the genre) -
either mini or multi-episodic or as a movie - along with dialogue,
based on the following situation.
A wealthy urbane sophisticated woman
inherits a farm in a village far away from the city where she lives.
After much thought she decides to make a trip to see what she has
inherited. She falls in love with the rustic surroundings and decides
to stay on. The only neighbour she has for miles around is male.....
Happy writing!!!
