PEOPLE

Alistair Brown, BBC World's former Head of Operations, has been promoted to Director of Operations, BBC World. He will co-ordinate international operational activities for the BBC's 24 hour news and information television channel, as well as taking responsibility for BBC World joint ventures and businesses throughout Asia. Yash Khanna, who was earlier vice-president (ad sales) will now head marketing, a new division which has been created at News Television India Ltd (NTIL), the company that looks after Star TV in India. He will be reporting to NTIL CEO R. Basu.
