BBC WORLD EXPANDS AD SALES PRESENCE
International news and information television
channel BBC World is flagging off its new ad sales office
in Mumbai's central business district of Nariman Point next
month. BBC World already has ad sales offices in Delhi and
Bangalore, both of which were established recently.
The channel has appointed former Star TV
India sales vice-president Usha Samuel as head of all Indian
ad sales activities. Samuel will be based in Mumbai and
will oversee various BBC World sales offices in India. She
will report to BBC World Singapore-based Asia regional sales
director Sunita Rajan. Samuel was earlier regional sales
manager, Channel [V]. Rajan was also with Channel [V] earlier.
BBC World is among the most widely distributed
news and information channels in India with over 7.5 million
homes, and a share of viewing larger than the other news
channels combined in upper class Indian homes.
