An Indian, Manish Jha, has been promoted as vice president,
affiliate sales development and operations, at ESPN in the
US. Jha will draw up affiliate policy and strategy development for
ESPN's domestic networks, and oversee affiliate network services
and contract administration.
Japanese business legend Akio Morita passed away last week
after a battle with pneumonia. Morita co-founded Sony Corporation
which has been at the forefront of many a consumer electronic innovation.
He was 78 and had been incapacitated ever since he suffered a stroke
in 1993.
