NDS ASIA PACIFIC PLANS INDIA THRUST

News Corp owned end-to-end digital broadcasting solutions company NDS Asia Pacific is planning to increase its thrust in India. For starters it has signed two business partners - Delhi-based Horizon Broadcast Electronics and Mumbai-based VisionTech -- in India. The two firms will be promoting the NDS product range to government bodies. Additionally, NDS is scouting around for resellers to represent it in the Indian market.

The company is making attempts to build up its profile in India. It co-sponsored the Scat Media Trade Show in Mumbai's World Trade Centre and had a display of its products at a giant-sized booth at the exhibition. NDS Asia Pacific is also expected to exhibit at the December Trade Show in New Delhi.

"With regulations relating to digital and direct to home television expected to be passes soon in India, we thought it was wise to present ourselves to the Indian broadcasting industry," says NDS marketing communications manager (Asia Pacific) Diane Powers.
