Italy advertising spending down 4.5 pct in first 2 months of yr - Nielsen survey

MILAN (Thomson Financial) - Advertising spending in Italy fell 4.5 pct in the first two months of 2007 to 1.208 bln eur from 1.265 bln a year earlier, according to a survey by Nielsen Media Research.

Advertising on television fell 5.9 pct to 757.4 mln eur from 804.9 mln, it said, while advertising in the written press fell 2.0 pct to 330.2 mln from 337.1 mln.
