BBC's extra dawn broadcasts in India, Lanka

Chennai: BBC's Tamil service Tamilosai has launched extra dawn broadcasts for disaster coverage in India and Sri Lanka. Tamilosai is making arrangements for extra broadcasts for a week to cover the disaster that has struck southern India and Sri Lanka.

The BBC Tamil Service, which has its primary target audiences in these two regions, started broadcasting a special 15-minute dawn transmissions from December 27 to January 1, 2005 to provide additional information on the breaking news.
