BBC opens new bureau in Bangladesh

The BBC World Service opened a new bureau in the city Tuesday with two modern studios. Information Minister M Shamsul Islam inaugurated the new bureau.

BBC World Service Director Nigel Chapman said the opening of the new bureau was a landmark occasion and a statement of intent on the part of the BBC to provide worldclass coverage of news and events in Bangladesh, said a press release.
