ET NOW edges close to No. 1 biz TV channel

Popular wisdom dictated that starting a business channel in the throes of a global recession the tremors of which were being felt in India as well was a risky move. Many industry observers were sceptical about ET NOW, given that it was the most recent entrant in the business news space; a segment already cluttered with three existing players.

Besides, one of these channels, CNBC-TV18, was an undisputed market leader and had been on air for a decade.
