Amazon Prime Video to add TV channels in India

Taking an edge over its rival Netflix, Amazon Prime Video is looking at making a bold move. The OTT player wants to be a content housing platform that is soon likely to include even TV channels of India. The section is called Amazon Prime Channels and is already live in other countries such as the US, UK and Japan.

MIB grants 4 TV channel licences to ABP News Network
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has given ABP News Network four new TV channel licences in the month of February. The company has received uplinking and downlinking licences under the names ABP Andhra, ABP Ganga, ABP Kannada and ABP Tamil.

Reliance Jio acquires another 12% of Den Networks
Under disclosures of SEBI Regulations for Substantial Acquisitions of Shares and Takeovers (SAST), three Reliance Jio companies have informed the stock exchanges that they have increased their holdings in Indian multi system operator (MSO) Den Networks from 66.57 percent to 78.62 percent or increased their holdings by 12.05 percent which translates to roughly 5.75 crore shares.
