9X Media, other music channels challenge FreeDish e-auction in Delhi HC

Within a few days of DD FreeDish e-auction recommencement notice, 9X Media and other music channels have filed a writ petition before the Delhi High Court asking for a stay on the upcoming e-auction process as they feel the base prices are very high for small broadcasters.

TRAI claims stakeholders ready as new tariff regime kicks in
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) states that it has held meetings with MSOs, DTH operators and HITS operators over the course of the last few weeks, the last being on 31 January, and all of them have confirmed that they are ready to migrate to the new tariff regime from 1 February 2019.

Amazon saw most ever Prime subscriptions in Q4 2018
E-commerce giant Amazon beat analysts' expectation for the fourth quarter of 2018 after falling short of revenue expectations for the last two quarters. The company posted revenue of $72.4 billion and a record net profit of $3 billion. Despite the strong result, Amazon's weak guidance for quarter 1 in 2019 dragged the stock down in after-hours trading.

Airtel Digital TV numbers up in Q3 2018
Bharti Airtel Ltd (Airtel) Digital TV services segment reported 7.1 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) increase, 3.2 per cent y-o-y increase and 4.5 per cent y-o-y increase in operating revenues, EBITDA and EBIT respectively for the quarter ended 31 December 2018 (Q3 2019, quarter, period, under review) as compared to the corresponding year ago quarter.
