Netflix beats earnings forecasts riding on global user additions |
|
Exceeding user addition forecasts, Netflix's first quarter (Q1) earnings were in line with expectations while revenue bettered estimates.
Revenue grew by 43 per cent year over year in Q1 due to a 25 per cent increase in average paid streaming memberships and a 14 per cent rise in the average selling price (ASP). Operating margin of 12 per cent rose 232 bps year over year.

MIB moves to regulate online media: various organisations join issue |
Even as a debate on the need to regulate online news media gains momentum, various organisations have moved the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) hoping to be made a part of the committee that will look into various aspects of proposed regulations-a panel that surprisingly doesn't include, at present, any representation from the sector that is being sought to be brought under checks.

Cartoon Network HD+ adds Tamil, Telugu feeds |
Joining the bandwagon of launching local language feeds in the kids' TV sector is Turner India's Cartoon Network. The company has undertaken a soft launch of its new channel Cartoon Network HD+ from 15 April 2018 and has Hindi, Tamil and Telugu feeds along with English.
