Subha, a  self-taught artist is currently presenting PARVATHAVARDHINI, an exhibition of a series of artworks at the prestigious Jehangir Art Gallery,Kala Ghoda in Mumbai upto 19 May 2019.

Parvathavadhini continues to explore the artist's love for nature and in this series, Subha draws inspiration from the mountain ranges in and around India. She is  highly influenced by nature and this evidently finds pride of place in most of her works. She believes nature has the answer to almost every question. When she first read Edmund Hilary's quote "It's not the mountains that we conquer, but our own selves", it resonated a lot with her. Parvathavardhini is the Sanskrit name given to the artist at birth. Parvatha mean Mountains and Vardhini connotes growth and in this case, thriving. To thrive is to grow within.

Subha believes it’s possible that one person can have more than one serious interest in life and that it’s very important to nurture and feed  one’s inner child for personal growth. She has been pursuing her passion for art alongside her extremely busy corporate life.

While she has used acrylics for this series, she firmly believes that the medium should never be a restriction, when it comes to expression. In the past, she has worked with vinyl surfaces and oils as well. She believes it’s important to nurture one area of passion for the sake of one’s own personal development.  Some of her works have been bought by eminent personalities which include Mr. Sam Balsara, Mr. Vikaas Kalantri and a lot of young professionals, who like the vibrancy of colors and natural landscapes that she mostly paints. She has exhibited many of her works at several group shows in the country along with a solo show in 2011 at Svenska Art Gallery.
