MUMBAI: What’s-On-India’s (WOI) television channel distribution and connectivity monitoring vertical , TV Street Maps (TSM), is planning to expand its national coverage.

Recently, it has increased its footprint from 750 head-ends to more than 1000 head-ends spread across 450 towns, up from 220 towns.

What’s-On-India EVP Joydip Kapadia said, “Our goal is to create the widest and largest TV channel distribution monitoring system in the market, and with this latest expansion we have achieved that.”

The move to expand is considered strategic, more because of the dramatic changes that are expected in the distribution side of the TV business over the next couple of years due to the digitalisation regime being introduced by the government. TSM has plans to reach a scale of 3000 head-ends by the year -end spanning more than 2000 towns including key less-than-class-1 towns (LC1 markets).

TSM is a day-to-day TV channel monitoring for availability, frequency and changes by head-ends and towns. The mapping includes DTH, analogue cable and digital cable. Other services of the company include, vicinity connectivity, flash street news, dispute resolution.
