Ingenico, Nana Nani Foundation tie up on 'Elderly Day'

MUMBAI: Ingenico Group, which is into seamless payment systems, recently conducted a workshop on digital payments for senior citizens in partnership with the Nana Nani Foundation at Nana Nani Park, Girgaum Chowpatty, in Mumbai, and encouraged senior citizens to shift from cash to digital transactions.

The objective was to promote cashless transactions and to teach the elderly to embrace digital payments. Ingenico representatives gave a detailed presentation on various payment methods and explained in detail the simple steps required to make online payments.

Ingenico India MD Sunith Menon said, “Owing to a lack of awareness about the necessary steps to be undertaken to safeguard against digital fraud, senior citizens are susceptible to fall prey to cyber frauds."

One of the attendees of the workshop said: “This workshop was helpful and indeed motivating. While many of us would like to shift to digital payments, there are many myths surrounding the digital world which are the cause of our apprehensions. All we need is someone to guide us to embrace technology in our daily life.”

Participants at the workshop were shown live demonstrations of payments made using debit and credit cards on payment terminals, as well as through different online payment methods, and received guidelines to follow when making digital payments. Regular visitors to the Nana Nani Park actively participated in this workshop and also experienced hands-on payments through PoS devices.
