Virgin's subs to get free music download from QuickPlay

MUMBAI: QuickPlay Media, the mobile solution provider that manages the business of mobile video, has announced its tie up with Virgin Mobile to provide music download service for Virgin mobile subscribers in India.

Termed as 'Vmusic,' the service offers a range of western and Indian content from artists across brands and music labels, such as Sony BMG and Hungama. Virgin mobile subscribers with vJazz handset can avail Vmusic services that will be free for one year.

 

QuickPlay Media president and CEO Wayne Purboo says, "The collaboration with QuickPlay, Virgin Mobile India (VMI) will transform their customers' mobile experience by providing them with access to music. By working with QuickPlay, VMI also ensures expansion of its multimedia services to meet customer preferences."

Users can choose from an array of up to 100,000 Bollywood, regional and international chartbusters. Each track will have digital rights management (DRM), managed by QuickPlay's solution.

 
 

Consumers will also have access to a catalogue of all available music, which enables them to browse for songs and preview selections for up to 20 seconds before downloading.

Virgin Mobile India chief officer handset Vas and procurement Deval Parikh said, "We selected QuickPlay because of the company's proven ability to provide quality and customer-friendly mobile media solutions. QuickPlay has delivered an innovative and flexible solution that enables us to satisfy the current demands of our customers."
