MUMBAI: Castrol India has launched Castrol Index for Cricket, an analytical tool that objectively analyses player and team performances and provides insights to enhance understanding and enjoyment of the game.

Says Castrol Index brand ambassador and cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle, "The Castrol Index provides differentiated analysis and information that sheds light on how the game is played and won. It provides a point of view based on analysis and data not just subjective opinion."

The Castrol Index is developed for the shorter versions of the game (T20 and ODIs) which takes into account all aspects of the player's game. These include batting, bowling and fielding. The index tracks both player and team performances separately wherein it determines the batting and bowling performances for a team in the first six overs and for last five overs, termed as Quickstart and Extreme Performance respectively.

Extreme Pressure Performance (EPP), meanwhile, determines a team's consistency in winning close matches.
