Indian agencies shine at AdFest 2009 with 28 Lotuses

NEW DELHI: AdFest 2009, which was held in Pattaya, Thailand, had Indian advertising agencies shining at the event with as many as 27 Lotuses.

Leo Burnett India topped the charts with 11 Lotuses. The agency bagged six silvers for Bajaj Exhaust Fans under the Poster category. It won the Press Lotus in the sub-category of 'campaign for best home appliances and furnishings'. It bagged the honour for its work on Bajaj Exhaust Fans Kitchen and Bajaj Exhaust Fans.

Leo Burnett won five bronzes for Bajaj Exhaust Fans's creative ‘Babyroom’ in the Poster category. It swept the Press Lotus for 'single best of home appliances & furnishings' category.

McCann Erickson won three silvers for Maha Thanda Tel (Cooling oil) in the Print Craft Lotus category for best use of illusion. The agency also bagged a bronze for its work on 'Symbol Freelife Raster for Design Lotus' in the sub-category of best of collateral design.

JWT India picked the Lotus Roots Film Craft gold for The Times of India's ‘A Day in the life of Chennai’ campaign. The agency also bagged two silvers in 'Film and Music' for the same. Additionally, JWT bagged a silver in Film and a bronze in Film Craft for ‘Arjua- the archer’ for Sulekha.com.

Next, Ogilvy & Mather bagged a silver and bronze for the category for best of corporate identity and best of graphic design for its work on Art Restoration Service and Short Film Festival.

Rediffusion Y&R won a gold for its work on Seventymm in the category of Radio Lotus. Under Radio Lotus category, the agency also bagged a silver for Vandana American India Foundation for best 'social engagements'.

Contract Advertising bagged a bronze in sub-category of 'best of packaging design' for its work on Cadbury’s Christmas Celebrations.

Creativeland Asia agency also bagged a bronze under Design Lotus in the sub-category of 'single best of corporate identity for car mall'.

In Radio Lotus, Publicis Communication bagged a silver for Mosquito Repellent/Killer in the sub-category of 'best of health and personal care'.

TBWA\India picked up a bronze under 'Outdoor Lotus for USB Drive' in the sub-category - 'best of mobile billboard/ wrapped-around'.
