MUMBAI: Ravi Krishnan, Rajasthan Royals vice chairman, has decided to don his old role as IMG managing director from 1 April after a span of two years.

Krishnan, who will join the sports, fashion and entertainment events company for the South Asia region, said, "It is true that I have decided to take up this new role at IMG. These are interesting times for the Group and for India. In addition to managing existing IMG properties, we will look to developing innovative initiatives, in the near future, both from our global bouquet as well as home grown."

Krishnan had quit as IMG director in April 2006 to pursue various advisory roles.

Commenting on Krishnan's appointment, IMG/IMG Media senior vice president and IMG India senior corporate director Andrew Wildblood said, "Krishnan's principal remit, in addition to overseeing existing IMG properties, will be to execute and oversee our new business and business development plan as we seek to grow our business in India and South Asia."

At Rajasthan Royals, Krishnan played an advisory role to the franchise in structuring the business for commercial, operational and on-field success.

Besides, Rajasthan Royals, Krishnan also promoted Abler Advisory, an investment advisory focused principally on private equity in real estate.
