MUMBAI: India had a disappointing day one at Cannes with Leo Burnett, Mumbai, being the lone winner, bagging a Bronze Lion for Stainbroidery, a promo created for Tide detergent.

India failed to make a mark in the Direct Lions category. The “Teach India” campaign by Times of India, created by JWT Mumbai, could not cross the winning line. Last year, Times of India’s “Lead India” campaign had taken home the Grand Prix in the Direct Lions category.

There was no Indian entry that was shortlisted for the PR Lions category.

Indian agencies are, however, hopeful that the scorecard will improve in the subsequent days when the other categories open up.
