MUMBAI: Hill & Knowlton has made an entry into the Indian market. The global communications consultancy firm has taken over the management responsibility of Ipan from JWT India, effective 1 July.

The new entity, to be re-branded Ipan Hill & Knowlton, will become a part of Hill & Knowlton's Asia Pacific region with Ipan president Radhika Shapoorjee reporting to Hill & Knowlton APac president & COO Vivian Lines.

All existing management and staff at Ipan will continue in their existing roles.

Both JWT and Hill & Knowlton are part of communications services group WPP.

Said JWT India CEO Colvyn Harris, "In today's complex business environment, specialisation will drive success in the market place. We believe that this management realignment for Ipan with Hill & Knowlton will enhance the value proposition for globalisation of public relations in India and will strengthen our ability to build a bridge into the international PR arena for our clients in India."

With approximately 140 people and operations in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kolkata, Ipan has local affiliations that reach over 100 other cities across India.
