MUMBAI: UK’s online newspaper Guardian.co.uk has signed a deal with online ad sales house AdGent 007 in a bid to expand its online ad sales in Europe.

Through this deal, the online newspaper also aims to earn revenue from its global online readership as almost 63.3 per cent of unique users of the Guardian site comes from outside the UK.

Says AdGent 007 CEO and founder Cameron Yuill, “Guardian.co.uk has been attracting a massive quality global audience for years. This audience presents a great opportunity for global advertisers and therefore a great opportunity for The Guardian to increase revenues. AdGent 007 will now represent guardian.co.uk, selling inventory to advertisers looking to target the website's readers across Europe."

With the signing of this deal, the Guardian joins other leading U.K. publishers including The Telegraph, Bauer Media, The Independent and Johnston Press, who have already assigned AdGent 007 as their ad sales agency in their bid to improve revenues from their non-UK online inventory.

“The Guardian has a global reputation and through guardian.co.uk reaches millions of people around the world. By working with AdGent 007 we will be enhancing the opportunity for advertisers to reach this audience and monetizing traffic to our site more effectively”, added Guardian News and Media Limited sales director Chris Pelekanou.
