HUL transfers Lakme, Ayush to new arm

NEW DELHI: Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) has decided to transfer its brands under Lakme and Lever Ayush to its beauty and wellness business subsidiary, Lever Lakme Private Limited.

The decision to move its service brands has been approved by HUL’s board of directors.

While the product ranges under Lakme and Ayush would continue to be part of the company's home and personal care business, the service part related to Lakme salons and Ayush Therapy centres have been hived off to the subsidiary.

The service and wellness business of Lakme Lever will include the 140 Lakme salons and 40 Ayush Therapy Centres. Besides, eight of the Lakme Salons are company-owned the remaining Lakme salons and Ayush Therapy centres are operating on a franchise model.
