Eric Silver is DDB New York chief creative officer

NEW DELHI: Advertising agency DDB has appointed Eric Silver as chief creative officer for its New York office.

Prior to this, Silver was chief creative officer at BBDO, New York.

Silver's appointment will come into effect from 17 February and will take over from Lee Garfinkel, who has put in his papers to pursue other creative opportunities. Garfinkel joined DDB in 2003.

Says DDB New York president and CEO Peter Hempel, "Silver's talent, creativity, instincts and big-brand experience will make our clients' brands even more influential and prosperous in the marketplace."

Silver started his career in advertising as a copywriter and has worked for agencies such as Chiat Day, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners and Wieden+Kennedy. In 2003, he joined BBDO New York, as an executive creative director and handled clients such as Monster.com, BBC, DirecTV, FedEx and Guinness.
