MUMBAI:
The International Cricket Council (ICC) World Twenty20 trophy has kicked off its
world tour in Colombo.
The trophy, designed
by Minale Bryce Design Strategy of Queensland, Australia, and manufactured by
Links of London, will also be shown off in other countries in the lead-up to the
ICC World Twenty20 to be staged in England from 5 to 21 June.
For the general
public, the trophy will be displayed at the Crescat Mall, next the Cinnamon Grand
Hotel, Colombo on Tuesday and there will be an opportunity for them to photograph
and be photographed with the trophy.
India
won the inaugural ICC World Twenty20 in 2007 in South Africa when it beat traditional
rivals Pakistan by five runs.
